When you RMA these be aware.
There are to types of this exact memory so you people know. BL2KIT12864AL1065.16FD3 16modules and leds on both sides. BL2KIT12864AL1065.8FE5 8 modules and leds on one side. Crucial calls these the same. When you buy this, you could get either type of stick. These are very much different Again Crucial calls these the same.
Cons:
Warning. If you RMA this memory. You will not get the same exact memory back. If your part number is BL2KIT12864AL1065.16FD3 you will get from RMA, part number
BL2KIT12864AL1065.8FE5. The difference is 16FD3 has 16 modules and leds on both sides on the stick(The Famed ones). 8FE5 has 8 modules and leds only on one side of the stick (the new style ones). The heat spreaders on 16FD3 are better made. 8FE5 are cheap and use heatsink tape to hold them on. Crucial says these sticks are exactly the same. In no way are these the same. These new sticks are single sided and do not have the D9 chips.
Other Thoughts:
I would buy from a manufacturer that holds up to thier warranty and not trick you when it comes to the old RMA routine when they will eventually die. They will send you something totally different and call it the same. These new sticks are not the same as the famed Ballistix Tracer 1066 memory people praise.
This a FYI. I found out the hard way. I now run 2 gigs of good memory and 2 gigs of junk. If you plan to buy this memory, I would look elsewhere for some other decent memory. No name memory is better than this. You will not find much information on the net about this. This is your heads up.
