Which of these two would be better? I'm guessing maybe the XIGMATEK. But I hear everybody likes the MX-2. Plan to use it on cpu (duh) and gpu.

thanks, sounds great!!! how much of a drop should i see? 30c idle/45 load on cpu and 45c idle/68c load on gpu

well that's good, atleast i see a 5-10 drop i'll be happy. I would like to see 15-20 drop on my cards too. hopefully! i would be happy with atleast 10c drop

Yea the cool thing about it is if you get some on the pcb its non-conductive so it wont fry anything like Arctic Silver would.

ok sounds good. this arctic silver isn't really worth a crap. i just had gotten something different when i got the zalman. but oh well, i was in a hurry.

I use AKASA AK-455-5G HI PERFORMANCE THERMAL COMPOUND and at OCed settings for both cpu and gpu I get 20 C(E6420@3.2ghz Idle) and 55 C(8800GTX idle)..... :rockout:

thanks, i've been having heat problems since i built this system a month ago. this is got to be the only thing. Not in less i go water. But that will while though.

maybe you could also change that zalman9500 to a 9700 (about 5 C temp drop) or even a ZEROTHERM NV120 NIRVANA PREMIUM 1 CPU COOLER (if you can find one) or Thermalright ULTRA 120 EXTREME COOLER (I like this one - especially for htpc)

how much mx-2 should i put on my gpu's? should i do just i like doing a cpu. the size of grain of rice in the center and but the hs (fan) back on.

well the size of the gpu is usually larger than the cpu so more than just a "grain of rice" size should be applied...

mine gpu is only about an half of inch wide, so maybe little less than.

you guys are going to butcher me for this - i have used copper grease on my FX-62. Hey i was excited about the chip and couldn't find any compound in over 5 shops!
