Take a look @ the screenie:

@ first, i noticed this happening after primming sessions but now, it has happened 2 times without me running Prime95.

I think there may be a problem with this motherboard :(

What do you dudes think?

EDIT

Yesterday, i started playing Quake III and was having around 80 FPS with shuttering, which is unusual and, when i exited Quake III, i noticed why :(

is the system unstable? it could just be poor programming on the part of Asus. try using CPU-z at the same time to see what it reports.

is the system unstable?

It becomes, when this happens but not before.

Take a look:

I have increased 1 increment in the VCore voltage since this primming session.

Updated BIOS to version 0401.

About the CMOS battery: you mean changing it for another?

yes try replacing the CMOS battery with a new one

im not familiar with your board but just because a BIOS is new/newer doesnt mean its better, you may have better luck with an older BIOS, you may have to try a couple different ones to find a good one. just a thought

It is a CR2032 round battery. It is located under your 3870...=)...I am asumming your 3870 is in the first PCI-E slot...if so...the battery is underneath that.

you should be able to get from your local PC store or you may be able to get one where they sell watch batteries, the number is (should be) as paybackdaman posted

OK: thanks for the input, dudes!

Will wait and see if changing the BIOS worked. If not, i'll try what you suggested.

So far, it's ok.

are all your MOBO drivers up to date? have you tried a different version of Ai suite?

you may need to try a couple different BIOS's to find one that works

thats all my ideas, sorry :(

Asus Drivers? I think they are up-to-date: there's nothing new in the Rampage Download area!

Different versions of AI Suite? No: not yet.

Tried BIOS versions 0308 and 0401: no workie :(

Need to get me a new battery, as suggested: haven't tried that, yet!

that's wierd, it's showing the wrong cpu speed. I don't know man, I don't have an intel. So I don't know if it's a intel problem or mobo. Good luck though.

Im not sure I would trust 100% any of those 3rd party monitoring apps. Take screen shots of your bios, or Post all your voltage settings from the BIOS. A FSB around 440Mhz will probably need a bump in voltage on the NB. Also try to loosen your RAM timings a little. That corsair is rated for 4.4.4.12 @800, maybe try 4.5.5.12. I know it will run at 1066, but with 2.1v and 5.5.5.18 timings.

I haven't mentioned this yet but i activated C1E. This had happened before i did that, though: it's just that my jaw dropped quite a bit when i saw my electric bill in this 1st month of OCing

Try just dropping everything back to stock and see what happens, put everything to Auto as configured when you first bought your motherboard. Also drop your PCI-E back down to 100, see if anything happens.

Those are some of the things I would change...Be sure to use incremental stepping on the voltage suggestion.

Dunno, dude: those volts seem awfully high ...

I'm with a stock cooler, dude. I've primed with those settings (except VCore which had 1.41875v) for 4.32 minutes without errors.

Try just dropping everything back to stock and see what happens, put everything to Auto as configured when you first bought your motherboard. Also drop your PCI-E back down to 100, see if anything happens.

Haven't tried yet.

This doesn't happen right away: takes a while for it to happen.

I've been there: even before i got the Rampage and was using a P5K-SE.

I can't do such high OCs: not with a stock cooler. When will my darn NH-U9B reach ... Portugal?
