I ordered a 790i motherboard from Evga and some DDR3 from OCZ. The total cost was 380.00 after rebates and a combo discount but after reading pages and pages corruption of data reports and bugs I'm going to auto RMA the board. It was going to be a nearly cost free transistion from my Rampage DDR2 to a 790i board With DDR3. If the reports I'm reading are wrong let me know, if you own one please post your results, the board comes today. I have read about 100 pages of forum posts, from two different forums. If you have had zero trouble with your board post them here , but if you have had trouble let me know aswell. This corruption issue is in all the 790i boards from Striker extreme 790i , XFX, EVGA etc...

I've hear pretty good things from the 790 listings. Tatty's thread has some good discussion.

Edit: his thread is for the Ultra, not sure if that makes a big difference.

Edit2: I see you have been there...

I've had my ASUS Striker 790i running since Saturday upgraded to bios 0402, won't accept any other recent bios files for some reason. I am taking my time on this one, currently orthos testing, as I write this CPU at 1333FSB ram linked 1:1. I have manually added the ram timings and left the advanced setting on auto. Manually adjusted the cpu voltage and ram. Q6600 at 1.3125V and RAM at 1.8V (Auto CPU voltage seemed a little high initially). Orthos 7 1/2hrs stable at time of post. Will continue to lower CPU voltage and eventually try to run the 2 X 2GB DDR3 sticks at the rated speeds of 1600 hopefully 1:1 linked and I'll be happy. No BSOD issues running very nice, fingers crossed!

The only problem I have had since installing the board is BSOD at boot up before loading vista 64, added 4GB RAM fix, no problems since.

Confirmed. I have been also hit by the corruption gremlin last night. Linked 1:1, 1422FSB no problems, went only to 1511FSB and wham! OS corrupt. Hopefully they will provide a complete bios fix shortly cause I'm not planning on RMA'ing at the moment.

I don't believe its ASUS's fault or any other supplier for that matter, NVIDIA needs to sort these fundamental problems out.
