Giving it a go now! I hope this all works with Vista 64bit. Thanks W1zzard for putting this on your server, 1.8 mb per second is very nice indeed!

More people play BF2 and BF2 is way better, so why not add widescreen to that instead?

Apparently, EA wants you to add " widescreen 1" to the end in the shortcut. It now shows up in the options video menu. Game works great for me.

You don't have to use a + or -. At the end of the line it just " widescreen 1" -no quotes and a single space. Full line: "X:\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1

Its what we were talking about earlier - does their widescreen options add more horizontal view, or do they simply cut the top and bottom off the view like the res hack always did (LESS view or MORE view than 4:3)

I don't know for sure, but it seem like it actually gives you more horizontal view. It looks different from the hack from what I remember.

Dunno why that's happening. I would try reinstalling the game, apply the 1.5 patch, download pbsetup for punkbuster and run that, restart, and try again. Make sure you don't have any background programs running.

None of them seem to understand that with an LCD, you dont really have a choice - its maximum res, or blurfest. (and yes its hilarious for 1280x1024 users to be backing up 4:3 resolutions, since they're 5:4)

Crash and Burn
Yeah Hat, I'm having the same problem with the game. I can click on pins, but all medals and badges crash me to desktop. I contacted EA tech support. They blamed my drivers and background programs. I blame a glich in the new patch.

Hm, after clicking on my medals and such, I don't get a crash but I do get a noticable stutter like it wants to.

Alright, I have a feeling that it crashes when it has to recieve our information from EA.
My rig is a Dell XPS 1710: 2 gig RAM, 80 gB HD, NVidia GeForce GO 7900 GTX etc. Is your setup similiar? I'm also running MacAfee; even killing the agent didn't stop the crash but my best guess is some firewall or something is choking the stat connection and causing the crash. Haven't had this until the new patch too... |

I must be lucky,...no problems with the new patch whatsoever.
