Yup wolf posted that on a different thread, and it also doesn't need modded infs coz it had already modded ones or sthing like that... From what I've read from different forums, most of em encounter artifacts with Crysis while using the stealth mode, and others gained more points on vantage and 06, also others reported to have gained boosts in Grid. That's from what I've read around guru3d and some random googling.

It was wolf2009 that posted that thread actually.
And we should all have a moment of silence for the departed GX2

I left my copy installed and typed in my GMail address (my Yahoo address got the first shot)...had no issues for run #2.

There was a thread about these and I tried em out, they already have support for all GPU's, and they are faster than the 177.41, gave me a 110+ point boost in 3D06, I haven't tested any games yet, I was installing my cpu cooler yesterday ( Coolermaster Hyper TX2) and I'm gonna test games today.

Well, tried it just for the heck of it: 7600GS Vista 64, working, even with riva tuner... Tested on grid, gained a small bit of fps from 41's.

Weird things happening with these drivers - VGA fan randomly goes up to 100% and then back down to 60%. No, card is not overheating. It happens even when temps are about 55°C and down.
BTW i tried these drivers on Windows 7 Beta and they worked. Also got my 8600GTS back from RMA. They gave me brand new and it has the same issues - no signal on DVI. So guys be aware of XFX 8600GTS 256MB version wich looks like this:

I quit buying XFX after THREE 7900GTs all had bad memory and two of them were long after they knew about the problem. I told them that they just permanently lost me (and anyone I build for) as a customer. Now, everyone gets an Evga.

I ended up volt modding mine which let me get clocks stable to 645 core and 800 ram (which is pathetic). At stock it would crash even when underclocked.

Anyone notice if anything but the .41s are causing heat issues with their 280?

I skipped em dude...I did try .35's the other day, ran fine, went back to .66's and haven't had an issue...I'm running my fan on 80% though, so I hit about 44-45C idle and 59-62C load so far. I'm on the 260 tho.

Going to try the 177.70 after a driver clean.... Report back in a bit...

My oc'ing with the 280 haven't been the best... I'm thinking that my Gx2 drivers hit it self in the computer... So, use driver cleaner then if it doesn't work... hook up the passport, and do a quick reinstall.

Not sure if your drivers would cause a physical overclock issue Cold. If they were 'borked,' I'd think it would be all or nothing; it works, or it doesn't.

I know that despite oc, my heat is somewhat of an issue no matter the clocks.

Then again it depends on the application.

AoC 65-70
Crysis 80-90

Unfortunatley, noone around here has any EK cover blocks in stock.

I may just have to take it apart and use some Ceramique in the meantime.
