That's the least of my concerns, but ITunes hanging when I play a music that is synced with my IPod, then tries to sync and does nothing and then resumes normal operation is annoying, so my next MP3 player will be a Zune .

hah this threads back.

it was always amusing what comes up in here.

my current hate is Xfire (the chat program, not the video card thing) - cause every time someone has a problem with it, they seem to blame everything ELSE. changing drivers, formatting... and they refuse to just blame the damn program thats causing it all.

Hate Apple for making you deep throat the crap that is Ilife.

First, Adobe Acrobat. It sucks, it hangs and is unable to end itself mebey it should become emo suicidal. There are free alternatives and they work as does the pdf format. Adobe however has many updates and installs startup items as does Apple, which brings me to number 2.

Second, Apple for the shit that is quicktime/itunes/ipodservice/ituneshelperservice/startup items. Bravo to them for making a mediocre player that is free and tries to take over your file associations unless you don't allow it. WMP at least has no other associated bullshit, but it does bring me to number 3.

Third, WMP. It hangs when you have a huge media library. I dare not introduce it to over 15-16GB of media or it has a shitfit and hangs the whole PC as it is aintegrated part. It stutters and skips when browsing even that much media, perhaps the idea of prefetching is reserved for other components and as I only have 1.5Gb of RAM free it doesn't want to use anymore, and god forbid it could use more than one core. The idea is treason I tell you.

Fourth, Realplayer, but that has been covered by Maddox and others. Does anyone remember the good days of the dancing sheep? When it didn't have a "go gold" popup every 5 seconds.

Fifth, Ataris bullshit Test Drive Unlimited. Cheat cheat cheat for so many. Then for the majority Lockup, corrupt profile, lockup, lockup, play 15 minutes and lockup. Dear god so much potential, bought a momo wheel, lockup, bought new video card lockup, bought new RAM, lockup, no overclock lockup, underclock lockup, reinstall lockup. etc... rinse repeat. Then Atari has the balls to ban someone who made a actual fix for their fuckup.

Yes, I hate the way acrobat brings iexplorer down so often. It's still the "nicest" PDF reader by far... so I put up with it. Reader 9 seems to be more stable than previous editions.

Gotta admit though, Windows reserves a portion of the volume at an absolutely wrong place. c:\Windows ; System32 ; Program Files are left very little space between the start (of the volume) and the beginning of the MFT (reserved) area.

Pinnacle Studio 10, great features....if you register it, even after spending a fortune on it, and to add to that it takes forever to load, aol/aim/and IE before 7 are very close runner ups

Eh, I use foxit. Lot smaller footprint and I only use Reader to read PDFs and it does well enough for me.

I too use foxit reader. its a lot more lightweight, doesnt install startup items, doesnt mess with your color profiles... and doesnt take ages to load.

Utterly annoying. But it really *DOES* help security. There was a test recently where no rootkits could be installed on vista, so long as UAC was enabled.

Anything done in any of the .NET based languages. Especially if author and/or authors are "independent developers". That means double-trouble. Since nine times out of ten, "independent developers" or more accurately “independent developer", as in singular, it means a pimply teenager in his parents basement hacking away at the keyboard, spewing out dangerously poor quality code in a poor language thinking to himself he is “Da uLtimtE codah!”.

QFT. MP Classic FTW.

My vote would have to be Myspace IM.

Oh, I forgot, every NFS after Most Wanted. Carbon and Pro Street didn't cut out. They don't have a good story.

a racing game can't actually have a good story... it's about the racing so your argument is more or less irrelevant.

without a story or plot to tell you WHY you're racing, it makes the game a lot more boring.

I'm one of the gamers who cant get into a game without a story as well - otherwise its just mindless.
