4850 aftermarket FAN REWIRE

OK, well its not really a rewire. But I just HATED having my zalman 900 CPU cooler plugged into the MB when I had a perfectly good port on the card. So I made it work It was pretty easy. At first I pulled all of the wires out of the plugs using a tooth scraper tool. Pretty easy, but when I went to swap wires on the connectors, the Zalman wires connectors were too big for the stock 4850 coolers plug. Hmmm, what to do. So then I just pulled the shield off the cards plug socket and stuck the stock zalman plug on it. Poof, it works. I have RPM's working. However by doing this, I lost Speed control that I was using in my MB Bios. But Im not too upset as my card Idles 38 -41. Fan is spinning at 1800RPM's. I took a final screenshot after it was hooked up, check it out! Hope this helps someone. Im sure you could go to radio shack and get some new connectors and use the stock one. but as im in Austria, its kind of hard finding a radio shack

Good "mod"..i have the "reverse" question: on Sapphire HD4850 Toxic it has the VF900 as a "stock" cooler.....it's possible to know on how much voltage the fan is spinning, assumes that the "stock" speed is 47%............. thanks

@Cybrnook2002: do you know where to find the "micro" attachments of the video card fan to the pcb? that plugs...............so the rewire could be better!
