so is the surface soft or is it rigid like alot of plastic mousepads, made from steelseries and icemat? because a Softer pad means the mouse does slide around with least amt of noise and they dont get dirty as easy as a hard mousepad.

This is a cloth pad with a foam underlining, thus a soft one. I am not aware of any pastic pads out there that also have such an underside

As for sliding around: what one perceives as smooth, the next person may think of as rough...I have gone with my feeling compared to the overall size of the Behemoth.

i was getting at a noise factor, i have a icemat here and i put on the feet that were recommended and it sounds as if im scratching the pad when im not, and the pad i have does show alot more dust on it than others, so i would say my pad is a little more needy of cleanliness.

Plastic pads don't roll well into tubes, they catch wrinkles.

Awesome looking pad. Even though I use an optical mouse, I prefer a pad to run my OCZ Equalizer on. This looks like a perfect fit. Its big enough where I Dont have to constantly adjust my mouse as I surf, play or what have you.
