up to 3 ghz one thing that is a bit diff is the nb strap option in the bios does this matter which setting I choose?

seems to change like it did before in cpuz atm 12 * 250 = 3 and rated fsb = 1000 (is this what the real nb is running at?)

not to sure on the ABIT...on my DFI it was just under where the FSB is changed.

Ill try and google an image!

EDIT: if this is your bios shots, I just dont see the option. Last bios I see is in late '07, may not even be totally supportive of the 45nm CPU. http://images.google.com/imgres?img...v=/images?q=ABit+ab9+pro+bios&um=1&hl=en&sa=N

ye thats same screen prob dont have it, bios i have supports e8200/400 managed to get up to 3ghz easy no changes left speed stepping on for the moment getting some instability goin over 3 ghz not bad for 50 notes

So, are you really going to try and push the chip, or just go with 3.5GHZ? I am going to beat the snot out of mine, find it's limits. Everyone on TPU will know what an E5200 can do by the time I am done with it lol.

lol Im definantly gonna give it a go! Been running orthos stable all night thought let it burn in a bit! Im not too sure if Ill achieve 4ghz on this board though :-( if I get above 3.5 Ill be happy!!

stable at 12*280 around 3.4 weird in orthos reporting cpu using 12.5 mult whereas only 12 in bios and coretemp/cpuz

still got power saving stuff on atm gonna turn that off soon

if I tried it at a different strap would that make it unstable 1066 instead of 800?

It is very sexy! I used to have a E8200 at 4.0GHz before I got the quad and I loved it.

this is a budget processor nonetheless, dont expect to get the same performance as other procs.
its cache is only 2mb, and a lower FSB means a drooped performance. Post some scores, i hope im wrong, and that this is a beast, in that case, ill get one for my htpc.

well ive done some see above on what i consider to be a modest overclock and seems be pretty good sure JC316 will put me to shame when he get his! Im oc on a fsb limited board so this chip is pure heaven!

any test specifically that u want?

ocuk wrote 1mb cache, so i got confused, but ur screenie confirms 2mb...cos i was gonna ask why buy this over e2220 but no matter!!

try oc ur ram, how much voltage u on? try getting it faster mhz's and you'll see an improvement in superpi

jus google e5200 oc ... i just check on hwbot to see whos got what, e5200 isnt up so if you post you will be #1 lol! i think with 45nm 4ghz is the aim...super pi 1m just gives an indication of the raw power, just check the superpi thread and see where your at:

Oh yes, I am going to flog it. My board is limited, but to 410 FSB. 410x12.5 = 5125.... If I get that far on air.... Never gonna happen lol. 12 hours and counting for mine to get here.
