crossfire 4850's not working

ok got my 2nd card today, installed as instructed in the setting up crossfire thread, all is well crossfirex is enabled in ccc and gpuz, however ive run 3dmark 06 and am scoring the same and getting the same framerate as i did wirth one card, cod 4 is the same, just the same fps as 1 card :cry:

anyone know what could be wrong ? ive got ccc 3d settings set too performance with Catalyst AI turned off as i get corruption with it set to standard OR advanced, is this normal ?

Your psu might be a little weak but I wouldn't rule that out yet. Do you have the crossfire bridges on?

yes both bridges are attached, system is stable as anything, no lock ups, reboots, bsod's etc all voltages solid as a rock, im ruling out the psu, besides im running stock aswell

seems you have to have AI enabled or cf wont work, but im getting flickering wehnever its enabled to standard or advanced, im using cats 8.9 btw, might try 8.8 see if there any better

I have the same problem, using CCC 8.8 with 2 HIS 4850 in CF.

ok had a breakthrough, i swapped the bridges and it appears crossfire is working properly, i have enabled ai to standard, and it ran 3dmark with no artifacts/stripes across the screen, score went up from 1000 to 12500 (bear in mind my whole rig is at stock) so there is a definate improvment,

can anyone confirm crossfire DOESNT work with AI set to advanced then ? i was looking for a bigger improvment, but i have a lot of tweaking to do yet, so i can bide my time.

the biggest improvment was in the canyon test, the fps were nearly double, so thats nice to see, and hopefully some games will show similar improvments, im going to have a quick bash on COD4 and see how that goes. :toast:

well going from stock to 3.8 on my E7200 and a small oc on the 4850's i score 17700 3dmark06 points :toast:

i had the same problem, with one 8800gt i got 11500, in sli 12500, thats with my system over clock, my crappy cpu is holding me back to utilize the true speeds for both cars, thats why im upgrading to a e8400 and a evga 790i mobo

When running vista leave the AI set to standard that what works the best for me in crossfire to. Canyon flight test Crossfire/SLI that the score you want to look at to see if your crossfire set-up is workking good . Hope you the best with you new crossfire rig.

It seems like ALOT of people are having trouble with Crossfire with these new drivers. Anywho, glad you got them both working!

well i only have crysis 1.0 installed no patches and have all settings on very high and....... 8x AA :pimp:

and getting solid 25fps, im going to update it to the latest patch and maybe try out jrobs custom config and then check back

i get a sad 12500, if u score a little higher then me, it tells my sli is working and my rig is up to par, and all i need is a better cpu etc

Fixed myne also, the CF issue. Well it still doesn't work in COD4 but it sure ass hell :nutkick:

Crysis. I don't have any benchmarking programs but I can definitely say once you get CF to work it's like a monster that wants to get out and play, just destructive is a good way to describe it. :rockout:
