hey man where was this card when i ordered my $110 8800GT! :slap:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127379

idk if MSI is a good company but i know a good deal when i see one. and at $115 this a good deal. but at $99 after rebate with a free game its a damn good deal.

is this a good cooler?

i dunno?

18 page in depth comparison to a 4850:

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1609/1/msi_geforce_9800_gt_512mb_graphics_card/index.html

anyway this is a "hot deal" for anyone stuck in the dark ages of graphics cards (7000 series, anyone?) and would like a cheap card that can still blow the doors off any game. or even if you want or need to upgrade from an 8800GS / 9600GSO like i did for a bigger monitor and smoother game play.

$99 smackers + a cool game.

happy shopping super budget gamers :rockout:

To answer your question, MSI is pretty decent in the video card department. Not grande but good. Also that cooler is pretty good. Also, wouldn't say this card would be better than the HD4850 but would give it a run for its money.

Hey its not that bad. Its only like 10% slower than 4850 and in some games its faster. So you save $50 if you buy this. Why bother getting 4850?

Also it consumes less power than 4850. there you can save a bit.

^ yeah plus it goes without saying the 4850 is faster / better. but, its not the only card on the market and the price of the 8800/9800 series cards can be very attractive to many. especially when they include a free game and a super low price. the cards still perform very, very well. and if you are upgrading from anything lower then an 8800 series card on the nvidia side you will see a HUGE increase in performance

so just because something better came out doesn't mean these aren't viable gfx solutions. heck, by the time anyone is done having fun with this sometime next year ATI / nvidia will have new stuff out yet again and people will say "don't get the 4850 get the blah blah blah." so at that time i might consider the 4850 or more likely the new "blah blah blah"

because my recently purchased 8800GT is taking on all my games. don't regret the choice at all, and i saved $70 when all was said and done. so if i consider that savings and the fact i can sell the 8800GT when the time comes....heck thats a lot of $ to put toward my next upgrade. 'til then i'ma get the most for my money out of the 8800GT :)

Tweaktown didn't say the 9800GT was as good as the HD4850, they said it was close, and it is. The 9800GT is very close to the HD4850. The stock 9800GT is within 15% of the HD4850, the overclocked MSI should be within 10% easily.
