TPU Gods,

Hey I love reading the awesome reviews by your team. I was wondering if there is any chance we could provide feed back on what members would like to see reviewed? As well as with reviews what material could be added to the set up or if a specific gpu's could be added to benchmark reviews.

Personally I would like to see more comparisons between memory and psu's. Having a comparison chart like for the gpu's helps me from digging through reviews for the details I want. I realize the psu reviews may be harder to provide since they require special equipment.

I really enjoy the reviews TPU offers, if there was a way for us to request specific items to be reviewed as feedback I would be happy! Thanks! :toast:

i asked for this before. basically, if you have a request, just pm someone like t ski or darksaber. they dont want a request thread just becuase like with everything, they think it'll go out of control.

I agree a request thread could quickly grow out of control. I would like to have a thread dedicated to discuss review options and request different reviews, not only for products but for benchmarks and comparison charts.

Yeah if you want anything reviewed, your best bet would be to ask DS or any reviewer.

Why not a request thread with votes, then the voted items could be submitted to t ski or darksaber...that way they don't have to read the huge post, and would only be sent things the user base voted for?

they can't really do the voting part unless they get a major manuf full support and then it would be something along the lines of pick your item from the list for reviewing

Ah...so its more about the money. Makes sense. Imagine if they had to write a check for everything we wanted tested..lol.

But is it possible to have multiple votes per thread on different items, vs. all under 1 vote?

Hardware companies contact us to do the reviews. Generally, if anything new comes out we will get it to review.

hmm if w1z could get friendly with some companies he probably could get them to "sponsor" a review that we picked and blow it out of proportion etc.

Ok this is how it works:

Most of the time, the company will contact TPU with the info on one of their new products. This goes straight to DS and he then tells the manufacturer to send it to a certain reviewer.

Now if we want, we can request certain items from companies. Whether we get it or not, thats a different story. Normally we talk to DS and as him for a certain product and he attempts to get it.

Now whether or not we get it is based on a number of things. Firstly, most of the time we will only get things related to TPU (ie, hardware and gaming). Secondly, it depends on the company/product. Some might not send it to us because we arent big enough or not specialised enough. Some might not send it simply because they already have enough hype around the product and dont need anymore reviews, as its selling.

Think about it like this:

Company wants product to sell. Company goes to review sites to get product known, sends free samples. Review site reviews item, item gets hype, e/retailers buy items, they sell.

Everyone is winning;
The company because they are getting advertising at the expense of a couple of products and shipping (barely anything for them)
TPU because its getting extra hits for the reviews
The reviewer because they are getting a free sample
