Finally changed my Avatar

Well its Diwali ( Info ), probably the biggest Indian Festival.

What better way to celebrate it away from home, by changing my Avatar to something related

So the monument in the avatar is the religious monument known as "The Golden Temple" ( Info )

Guards

Beautiful isn't it ?

Leave your opinion ! thanks

Wow that's really beautiful.
Do you have a higher resolution version of the first picture?

Does Diwali mean light? In my language "dwal" means lights and "dawl" means light. I made the analogy because phonetically the word sounds very much similar, and there are a lot of lights so it looks like a 'light festival'.

I've been to Nanded's Shri Huzur Abchalnagar Sachkhand Gurudwara. I hear the celebrations there are the best so far. The shrine is celebrating its 300th anniversary.

I've been to the usual rituals at the Temple here. Meeting family/friends. Plan on massive fireworks tomorrow.

Try pronouncing some Chinese words, you'll find things similar, even I would

India is [very] secular as well. That's a Sikh shrine made of gold, There's Hindu temple in the south made of gold, and a Jain Shrine in Mt. Abu (Rajasthan) which is on a similar scale, etc. Communal funds build them, not the governments.
