I ran this a while back when I just tossed the 5000+ back in my comp and I scored 79xx with everything at stock. Today I run it and P4735? GPU got 5449 and CPU got 3399. :banghead:

I don't know if there is a hotfix I am missing or something because ever since I tossed in the 4870x2 the 1st part of the bench just has water flowing over the screen almost the entire time instead of showing her making her escape. But it scored 79xx before running like that and it ran the same this time.

Did you clean all your old drivers from the system using driver cleaner or something to that effect. Very likely you have conflicting drivers.

When I installed this mobo I put in my old 5000+ and the 4870x2 was brand new out of box and I did a fresh Vista install. So no drivers to really be messing up, Its the same windows disk I always had and same copy of vantage also.

It doesn't seem to be a GPU score issue though, that score isn't nothing amazing, but the CPU is obviously going to bottleneck it. The CPU score is whats really killing the score.

**EDIT**

I lowered my CPU clock by 49mhz and my CPU score jumped up by 1200. The previous OC was stle, just must have been too close to the limit. Even then I still only got P5280. I dropped the CPU OC a bit more now and am going to drop the minor OC I got on the videocard and see what this nets me.

***EDIT EDITED***

Well I'm lost, my first score was like CPU - 3399 GPU - 5499 total - P4735 running 5000+ at 3,289 and 4870x2 at 800/950

2nd score, CPU - 52xx GPU - 52xx Total - 52xx 5000+ 3250 and 4870x2 at 800/950

3rd score, CPU 2945 GPU - 5093 5000+ at 3,185 and 4870x2 at 750/900.

By lower 65mhz on my proc I just lost almost half my CPU score from my 2nd try... Also Super Pi 1M took 31s on 1st try settings, 28s on 2nd try settings and only took 29s on this last try. So my Supr Pi 1M score only got 1 second worse and I lost 2300 on my CPU score in Vantage?

Are you messing with the memory dividers when you clock down? might be an issue.
If you were running a Nvidia card before the 4870x2 it would explain the difference in CPU score as NVidia would take adv of PhysX.
But the difference between your 2nd and 3rd score i have no idea.
Remember to close all background tasks and disable AV. Check your CPU usage before u open vantage to make sure nothing is eating too much cpu time.

Not messing with memory dividers, and those tests were all ran within 1 hour of each other same setup each time, no diff videocard on this motherboard ever.

Sounds like there's something running in the background.
Uninstall and re-install vantage.
Also check your dividers didn't change automatically when you lowered your FSB.
I've had a similar problem, but it was flicking between 5fps and 25fps. I restarted ad it was fixed, so i never found out what caused it. Sorry can't be of more help.

If your Mobo has a built in Video card, you can always try vantage with that at different CPU speeds, see what you get and you'll know if it's a video card issue.

Multi isn't dropping I have cool'n quiet off and have the multi manually set to 13x. I checked my CPU usage and at the time I checked it was high seems some part of AMD Overdrive was using like 50% of my CPU. I couldn't end it so I just uninstalled AOD and rebooted. Then I ran Vantage again, I bumped the CPU back up ti 3250 and the GPU back up to 800/950. And my score didn't improve got CPU - 48xx GPU 52xx and Total - 52xx. This is way too low.

**EDIT**

Just ran 3dmark06 since thats a good CPU tester. And my CPU line falls into line with that it should be pulling off, I got a total score of 11330, SM 2.0 - 4,9xx SM 3.0 - 6,0xx and CPU - 2283. Looking around a bit, that falls inline with about what I should be getting, and so does my Super PI score of 28s. Now the question is, no longer whats up with my comp, but whats up with Vantage? I mean my Super Pi and 3dmark06 tests came out fine, so really that points me away from any hardware faults.
