Unfortunatly, the fuse data on your card shows that you can't unlock the last 4 pipelines. Sorry :( If the bios worked, the chances are that you modified it right, so well done for that! ;)

guess i have to sell it on Ebay then (again) :D

Think i'll get a MadMoxx Card (GTO2) then... it's more expensive than a regular card but at least it's modded already.

Thanx for your help!

Could anyone tell me on how to determine if that video card's extra pipeline can be unlocked.

Unfortunately looking the fuses your card will remain with only 12 pipes  . (No way to unlock the last quad and to have 16 pipes at least on that card).

Sorry to tell you that :(

the x1000 series uses a different type of bios from the x800/x850, and can't be modified yet. Hopefully soon somone will figure out a way to do it.

I take it you want to get a x1800xt bios, modify it and flash it to a x1800xl?

wow, i didn't know an AGP x800gto existed! Cool!

Ok, if you open ATITool, and click the settings button. in the drop down menu at the top, select miscellaneous, and at the bottom, you'll see a button saying "Save VGA bios to file" Once you've done that, add the file as an attachment, and i'll change it to 16 pipes for you.

To add attachments, you have to use the "go advanced" posting method, and you'll see 'managed attachments' underneath. :)

Ok, here you go.

To flash it, get a blank floppy disk, and make it an ms-dos boot disk, then download ATIFlash from our downloads section, put the two files on the same floppy disk, along with your original bios and the new modified one (you'll have to rename them so you don't get them mixed up). Restart your computer with the disk in the drive, and it should load into ms-dos. If not, you'll need to change the boot priority. Once in ms-dos, type the following command line:

atiflash -p -f -newbios 0 [biosname].bin

When it finishes, restart your computer, and check atitool, and it should have 16 pipes enabled.

Note: sometimes the unlocked pipelines are faulty. This is why it's important to put the original bios on the floppy disk so you can flash back if you need to.

To Infrared

Infrared, no I do not have an onboard video
The fact that appear 2 devices is (I heard it on the net) because one is the bridge pci-e to agp.
It seems 800xl is a pci-e card but "adapted" using the bridge chip named "rialto" to agp.
I've managed to save my bios with -s command well , but it can't be written back , just as it is saved (to eliminate the cause of wrong bios ).
So it looks like it's a write protected bios.
If you could, get some info about M25P05/C bios code (especially about "/c")

"Can't flash x800xl Please HELP

My AGP 8x "X800XL" (bridged card?) can't be flashed even with not modified saved (with atiflash -s) original , intact bios.
On atiflash -i command appear 2 devices
"rialto" and "rv423"
Flash type is M25P05/C ( is it write protected ? )
SSID appears " 0000 " both old and new bios
I even used " >atiflash -p -f -sst -st -atmel -noremap 0 oldbios.bin "
I've tried "flashrom" and "atiwinflash".
With "atiwinflash" PC stalls before opening GUI.
"atiflash" keeps on giving :
0FL01* Error programming ROM

Versions I used : ATIWinflash108 ; atiflash312 ; flashrom240 . I even used a "moded" version atiflash16

Please help"

the card returns to stock speeds every time you restart, until atitool is opened again. Good luck :)

andrey: hmm, i'll have a look into it for you. Hopefully there's a way of flashing it.

I'll see what i can find out ;)

I already saw video card with ST M25P05/c component for the BIOS and it can be flashed (to use it on a mac).
So this chip is not write protected itself...

Yep, you can unlock that :)

You can flash to an x800xl bios if you like, since they use the r430 core, or i can modify yours, whichever way your happier with ;)

or yep, you can use the bios off that site, should work fine
