I just ran the vantage CPU tests and it looks very low compared to some of the benchmarks i have seen, on the review sites thay all seem to get above 40k stock but i can't get above 16k.
Is this a problem?

Enable NVIDIA PhysX in NVIDIA Control Panel. That's should boost the CPU physics scores.

i'm sorry, i forgot to mention that i still do not have the GTX260, i just put an HD4650 in it to test it . would the physx really take it from 16k to above 40k???

PhysX boosts the 2nd cpu test which accounts for 70% of the CPU score.

Yeah, sure... really there are better CPU benchmarks out there like Cinebench, WPrime, Generic CPU benchmark, and Super Pi 1.5 XS mod

Disable Hyperthreading. And you should be set to go. 3dmark does not like hyperthreading at all

My CPU loves HT on Vantage. That's something that varies from chip to chip Xazax.

Mine too ...people are saying higher FPS by turning of HT ..maybe for some folks but not for me.

3DMark 2006 hate HT if you're using Vista, Vantages work just fine with HT + Vista, it uses 8 thread, that's why.

Hyper Threading worked fine on XP and Windows 7, but not Vista.
