Alienware m5750i

Hello everyone I am fixing this laptop for a friend..and I am having some problems. it will not let me into the computer without a password, I don't know it and he forgot it which is the reason why I'm fixing it. Does anyone know how to get around this? Do I have to reset it using the jumpers? I can't get into bios or anything at all as soon as it starts it says enter password. Thanks for the help. All inputs are welcome.

Make a virtual machine to download stuff like that in. Or just use a good antivirus,

There's a way to reset the bios of a laptop without taking it apart, I just can't remember exactly how. I think you need to hold the power button for like ten seconds while it's off. I wish I remembered now.

Can you boot to a CD or a floppy w/o a password? There is a utility called killcmos that will delete the data in cmos, therefore removing the password. http://members.tripod.com/~deathboy_koasp/

Any ways, contact alienware. They should have a backdoor password. Just make sure your friend is registered to the unit.
