I found it slowed the thread down a few times and I couldn't figure out why in my browser the new posts were in a different font until the next refresh.

I do like the idea though, would be nice to have implemented.

I'd like to add that if we could get the quick reply to stop running away it would be much better. Also an automatically updating user cp with all recently subscribed posts would be quite cool.

Don't like it at all,

- Moves the page when someone posts such that you dont press the right button/link (that was really annoying) Or the reply/edit box disapperas of screen so you cant see what your doing
- After a little while your posts dont appear, even though every one else can see them
- Thanks buttons doesnt exist on posts which appear after the page has first loaded

I think its good to have some way of the thread keeping itself up to date, or knowing that someone has posted between when you click on the page and click post reply, I just didnt feel it worked that well.
Personally I think that its a cool feature that after a while, people will loose interest and find it more of an annoyance than asset.

I voted no because it simply didn't work for me (using Opera 10 alpha). I think an improved version of it would be great that works with all browsers.

I like it. Handy for when your reading a long post and others reply while your reading, sometimes people miss out on newer posts. One thing that would need to be fixed though is the quick reply box. Is there some way to pin it to the bottom of the browser window or something?

Maybe if you added an option in the user cp people could disable it if they wished ?

Had an idea, a bit like deleted threads appear for mods, could the post appear collapsed? And then you can open it when you have finished your typing?

See like now, people are writing and I keep loosing this quick reply box off the bottom of the page. That and if I wanted to I cant thank Davek, DrPepper and Oli_ramsay's posts.

as far as i understand the quick reply box problem is only an issue when you want to use it.

so maybe we could change it that if you have the cursor in it it keep the box scrolled exactly where it was before adding the post ?

If you can stop the page from moving everytime someone posts it would be better. Cus there is also problems when you try and click on links and buttons as it moves the page.

How come the thanks buttons dont appear either?

I'm keen for it to stay. If annoys enough people we can always remove it at a later date. It is slightly annoying when the new posts come in when you're trying to reply, but we can work on that.

I voted NO.

I don't think this feature is necessary, a chat room would be more suitable.

No one gonna sit here to wait for someone to reply them, because they usually go somewhere else to read and come back after awhile.

I dont know that much about html code and all that, just one of the big annoyances is the moving page, and the lack of thanks button could also be a pain. I was in that test thread nearly all the way through, and the "coolness" of the feature soon wears thin when you cant even click on what you want to.

I think if it was upto me (and I'm not saying this is even possible)

- I would make edit's live (that is one thing, when you post, then come back later and find somone had edited their post)
- I would make the latest post section and news on the index page live
- And like I said earlier maybe a more subtle way of telling you in the thread that someone has posted.
