A very nice lga1366 coolers roundup. This should be a reference when shopping for a heatsink.
The new prolimatech Megalems is now the king of air cooling.

I believe the Prolimatech Megalems is designed by some engineers that left Thermalright.

Yeah it's a former Thermalright engineer team.

those are not load temps as a matter of fact i don't see any true load temps at 1.36v no air cooler will keep a I70 at 48c under load, there is something wrong with that review.

Yeah well idle temps are important too.

This review is claiming those are load temps Binge and no way they are. Read this review, this is a TRUE 1366 on a I7 945 at 3.2ghz 1.26v and it's hitting 56c to 58c and that's very good. Those are alot higher temps with less voltage, than the review posted here. Maybe those are socket and not core temps and if so add about 15c to 18c degrees to the temps show above. Then it used 3.9 at 1.35v and the temps are 78c+ and still those voltages are less than the above review.

"Degrees Celcius over Ambient Temperature" ;)

Yep, it doesn't claim that they are load temps.

Read the review and you will see its 100% loaded with everest. The cpu is lapped and backplate are used in the overclocked test....
Also the video card and northbridge are water cooled not to interfere with the results.

still no way, look at every other review, no air coolers can realistically achieve those temps on the cores none. I have read like 7 on TRUES and Noctuas and none can do that.

::EDIT:: Nevermind. I just read the review. Everything they posted was reported by the socket sensor on the motherboard in EasyTune 6. Therefore the temperature of the CPU is actually 20C more.

here is a TRUE copper very similar to the top cooler (since the same team designed it) in your posted review.

http://www.pro-clockers.com/reviews/?id=143&page=4 look at how hot it is compared My nouctua would hit 82c on the hottest core at 1.36v and thats very similar to what a TRUE would get in a closed case.

Umm whats so hard to understand?

"While the ambient room temperature did fluctuate between 18~19°C, this would not be enough to cause a noticeable impact on our test results since only the thermal difference is reflected in the charts. For the purpose of this article, thermal difference (not the same as thermal delta) is calculated by subtracting the ambient room temperature from the recorded CPU temperature."

From the site under testing methodology.
Therefore, as it says on the graph 'temps above ambient'. They did this because it fluctuated between 18 and 19 degrees. Add 18 or 19 degrees to each of those. That brings the TRUE on the graph in line with your TRUE trt.

correct but they sure are trying hard to make those cooler look like they perform a bunch better than they really will.

Not really, they're simply removing the fluctuating temperature, which would cause statistical anomalies. Just removing variables. Its still a straight away comparison between each other which is all that matters.

Regardless guys look at my edit two posts up... Legit reviews did not use on-die sensors.
