I bought my new computer:
Asus HD4850 512mb
4gb DDR II 1066
AMD Phenon 9950
Power Supply OCZ 600w

Im having problems with almost all the games crashing to desktop or getting blank/black screen after a few minutes. I install ATI drivers, not the ones from ASUS.

World of Warcraft WOTLK is imposible to play with direct3d. I have to start it in OPENGL.

GTA IV crash to desktop at the beggining

Farcry > black screen after a few minutes.

I will tried Crysis, Farcry2, COD5, and BioShock.

Someone know something about this issue? Is a driver problem? Overheating? Its a known issue?

You mean a damaged graphic card?

or

It could be a damaged card, bad drivers, failing overclock, overheating, etc.

But filling in your system specs in your profile always helps us help you further.

Today I will tried with 3dMark06.

Tried COD5 > Crash to desktop loading first level.
Assessin Creed > Black/Blank screen with sound, loading first level.

Last drivers installed from ATI web page. I never overclock any hardware. Fan speed set to 100%.

And I repeat the problem with World of Warcraft was solved launching it with OpenGL.

The temperature of the graphic card must be the same using it with OpenGL o Direct3D?

Different pieces of hardware are used in different ways between OpenGL and Direct3D.

I would re-install directX, possibly re-install the OS if the issues permit beyond there, test the power supplies voltage on 12volt under load and if issues remain RMA the card.

So, with a multimeter, I must test the PCI-e connector of the power supply? And the result must be 12v?

no switch on your pc, grab a molex connector then test the 12v line, which is the yellow line...

If he is getting a black screen, I would say it would probably be an RMA issue. Test another card?

I tried again COD5, GPU-Z log said that the GPU temperature is about 50º during the crash to desktop.

3DMarks06 works fine. There is no crash during test.
