I just had a similar experience
, and I was about to make a fan speed change for similar reasons, the fan is currently running at 50% all the time, which is v. noisy when idle. When I manually reduced the fan to 20% it only increases the idle temperature by 4C which is totally acceptable and makes the fan almost inaudible. I have no interest in changing the clock speeds I just want it quiet, 95% of my pc usage is tv/blu ray and software development.
For me AtiWinflash occasionaly causes a reboot when started, and if i click on the rialto entry windows locks up totally (it always locks up when usingAtiWinFlash from within RBE, last lockup I gave it 10 minutes just in case then forced a reboot). Eventually I used GpuZ to extract the bios as recommended and I had no problems using this method (see attached).
After loading the bios into RBE and making my fan alterations I click on save which is when I see the error (see attached). I restarted RBE and reloaded the bios then clicked on save WITHOUT making any alterations and received the same error.
Seems to me that the HD3650 is a pain for everyone
