Hey man I'll take that Akasa VGA cooler. $20 for an after market cooler with 40 different cards to work on, is a deal to me! I've got a 8600 that needs to fold a bit quieter so I think this'll help.

are you sure it's a full size pcb? if it's one of the shorter 8600s it won't work that I know of

That neo Vortexx is fantastic. I can vouch for it on my old 4830 that I had here. Note, that it doesn't like non-reference cards due to the memory heatspreader being overly large. For my 4830 (the MSI one), it bumped into one of the capacitors with the heatspreader. The good news is that you can use a pair of pliers and many minutes of up and down motion + pressure and take off the corners (that wouldn't be touching the memory modules anyway). Although be careful about the VRM cooling for most non-reference cards. I was lucky on my 4830 that my card has a very efficient 4+1 power phase design that resulted in no cooling of the VRM necessary. But many cards have the VRM cooling as part of the main heatspreader, or have a heatspreader that is too tall and will bump into the Akasa's fan.

Overall a good product. It has a 3pin motherboard connector that I just spliced and wired it into the MSI's original fan port. That helped out the noise issue as the video card obviously can do a better job on regulating the fans speed in accordance with the GPU temperature far better than the motherboard can.

the orignial fan was swapped for an antec tri cool fan, the speed controler is coming out of the back grille of the power supply and the power just plugs directly into one of the mofdular ports on the power supply. its basicly the same power supply i listed in the link above the pictures except its the previous revision V4. if you want to see the modified fan better let me know and i'll pm you some pics'
