AMD is ready with the industry's first WHQL-certified set of drivers for Microsoft Windows 7. The Catalyst WHQL Windows 7 driver comes as yet another first for AMD, and a first for Microsoft's Windows 7 certification program. Dated 5/5/2009, the drivers carry the version 8.612, feature full support for Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.1 and works with ATI Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000, and HD 4000 series. The drivers also provide support for ATI Stream GPGPU technology.

DOWNLOAD: ATI Catalyst 8.612 WHQL for Windows 7 64-bit, and Windows 7 32-bit.

WOOHOO! I just went to 7 on my main system last night :)

cat 8.4 shows at 8.600 in device manager, so this is just a few builds up.

edit: on the x64 page make sure you click the bottom link, the top one is a month old.

Why 8.6?

Edit:
Sorry, never mind =)

Anyone compared the version number to the 9.5 beta?

Right now I can say it installs much easier than the 9.4's and 9.5 beta due to not havinig to manually install them. Massive driver footprint for being an ATI driver(this is nothing compared to Nvidia's:laugh:), almost 100Mb. Nice that it comes with Hydravision.

is it safe to delete the 2 highlighted folders after installation?

The ATI one should be OK to remove but not the AMD folder. The AMD folder contains the 8.6 version driver. Now if you have any ATI tuner cards installed then I wouldn't remove the ATI folder.

This is awesome. I installed just the 9.5 beta drivers last night Ill have to throw these on when I get home.

download it now

Nice, AMD comes first from the pack.

I downloaded 7 RC last night.. I wasn't gonna install it, but now I want to :p

so i just noticed, hydravision is back....haven't seen that bundled with the driver in a long time

This is 98MB, nVidia's is 79MB... how is this "nothing" compared to nVidia's?

He was probably referring to older drivers.

oh please I hope Control Center is working with this one.
I got a 1080p LCD-Tv. without CCC I cant enlarge my screen.

Nitro use the scaling options,Also Win7 defaults to what ever your tv-monitor can go to,My 37 inch is set for 1920x1280 and i still have to use scaling.

I tried these this morning and install was like 9.4 ask me if I want to install driver signature error again. Then I tried a game and DX errors all the time went back to 9.4.

Trying to figure out why 7's drivers are close to 100MB compared to Vista 47MB 32bit flavor.

Downloading these now. Hope they're good! The RC of 7 is definitely more polished than the old beta's. I actually like it :toast:
