Riva Tuner 2.24 and 185.85 driver.

Well now I can not adjust the clock speed at all ! The new drivers are GREAT but Riva Tuner is not working now . WHY ? I can set the fan speed but I have no clock adjustments at all .
Any one know what to do about this ?

There is no version of rivatuner that supports the 185.85 drivers right now. Either use the beta ones, or go back to 182. Otherwise, use Evga Precision to overclock.

What is EVGA Precision ? And will it work with my MSI card ?

It will work with many NV cards, it's made by the same guy that created Rivatuner, just more to the point, nice gui, get's the job done well. I've used it on xfx, palit, evga of course, msi, and pny nv cards in many varying gpu's.

edit: iirc the newest version is 1.7.1 worked fine with 185.85's fine for me, but my DX10 gaming performance was straight crap (bioshock running 14fps? yeah right lol!), went back to 182.50's.

Under the Power User tab:

RivaTuner \ System

Set the "ForceDriverVersion" option to 18585

This will allow you to use Rivatuner as normal with the 185.85 drivers.

I have to say the 185.85 drivers have improved my performance a LOT this is the score I am getting now in 3dmark06 19684 730/1100 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11044616 and with the same settings with the drivers 182.08 I got 18132 so there is a big jump IMHO . And yes the EVGA Precision worked great as well !

Yes and as I mentioned my performance sucked w/185.85 in DX10 gaming, not DX9 benching.

I may try these drivers again, but DX 10 games like World in Conflict, Bioshock, and Cryostasis take a massive hit and end up almost FPS limited to about 14...it really kills gameplay. Those were the only DX10 games I was playing at the time, but even so, I don't wanna be hindered by crap performance in them when I know I can attain much better and .

Glad you got it sorted, handy trick newtekie has for sure, I'm a Precision convert tbh, simple, to the point, profiles, osd, graphs, small footprint leaves me very content, but Rivatuner still rocks! And since the same guy created both, you win either way, great programs. But I am considering toying with GPUTool beta.

oh yeah forgot about this. haha haven't used rivatuner in awhile.

Weird thing for me, under xp64, rivatuner works perfect with 185.85 without special settings, but not under win7 x64, I'll have to give that trick a try.... precision 1.71 does work under win7 though.
