sapphire x1950 pro looks like gt

i bought my sapphire x1950pro and it look just like x1950gt, same cooling and layout. i dont find anywhere information about this card. core and mem mhz is same that pro but ewerything else is gt. does anybody know about these cards, it seems so weird. sorry my english it sucks i know

does it actually say x1950gt on the heatsink?

as far as I know the x1950gt are just x1950Pros that didn't make the grade for some reason

no its says x1950pro but heatsink is same that x1950gt model. btw that cooling sucks idle 55-60 and load 70- c. i just wondering this because nobody has ewer heard this looking cards.
are sapphires card somehow overclock locked?

it is a x1950pro then, like i said, the x1950gt cards are just x1950pro cards that didn't make the grade

and yes, the stock cooling on all x1950pros is crappy

they are not overclock locked, but as of right now ATITool doesn't support them, so you have to use some other method

you can try using that beta to overclock your x1950pro, it says it supports it, but remember it is a beta

my card is that on the right but it says pro on the top. cooling is much worst than "real pro"
can anyone tell is there something else different between those cards? power thing seems to be. tomorrow im gona put water and many little heatsink on mem and those power things they warm up lot. terrible when fan screams almoust all the time

if it says it is a x1950pro and it is clocked like an x1950pro, then it is an x1950pro

even if it is designed like an x1950gt, it is an x1950pro, configuration wise the cards are the same so they perform the same at the same clock speeds

sapphire might be using the x1950gt pcb design and heatsink to save on costs, but as long as the card matches the specs of an x1950pro it is an x1950pro

Its no big deal, a lot of GT and Pro cards share the same cooler. Not all stock coolers suck either, just sapphire stock cooling

Yeah ok. But that is just it. These are not the same. And also the layout is very different from eachother. So imo it's not possible to switch those coolers between the 2 cards.

I would like to see a pic off it. Untill then i just find it a strange story.

I'm sure it is possible. Just a few manufacturers that come to mind that use the same cooler on both the GT and Pro are HIS, Palit, and Xpertvision.

If you look on my pic above then you can see a big difference in the build of the card.
And as he stated he could not find any info about it, so does nobody here.

heres is sapphire pro http://www.modders-inc.com/reviews-story-2-78.html and this is gt http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=2179&cid=3&pg=2 just like mine( yes ewery program and specs says pro so it is pro) but layout is different. pros card have holes aroun memories and gt havent(i cant get mem block on without glue, that sucks) memory=256mb 1,2ns samsung i get blackscreen/freeze after 600mhz im not sure what atitool i have but i dl it few days ago it some beta(not 0.24) i take pictures tonight when i but water block on. and im thinking put modded bios in but does it work?( i upload original add your modded bios here thread) are gt and pro core different of anykind. i know they are same core rv570.

The reason why sapphire switched is because the voltage regs were giving people who wanted to switch to a VF900CU or an acceleroX2 a hard time, thus they went the old and more safer (but not mod-friendly) method of voltage regulation.

EDIT: The new version of it will last longer than us VRM'ers

I'm sure Sapphire have more than one PCB design, asides from that PCB layouts can be surprisingly different in terms of layout and looks but not require a redesigned cooler. End of the day if the card is clocked at Pro speeds, performs as it should and can OC by say 7-10% theres nothing wrong with it, its a full-fledged Pro.

is analog power better, does it need cooling?

oh no this is not good i oc with ATIWinCLK and it let me lift core about 660, next 668 and freeze well reset and new try. 650 freeze then just 620 and i but atitool artifact scan on, and same time freeze is this just bad card or is there some other problem?

have anyone else having trouble with 2dmark06 vertex test(canyon flight) to mee it just bright lights
ccc overdrive let me oc 621 3d marks go well. nvidias card are some much simply. i fight with this until next year

i love water full load tepmerature 39 and idle 32-33 room temp about 25-26. but that oc still dont work card let me raise freq but if i but any video or ccc 3d view on computer crashes. i use 7.1 catalyst have any one same problem and solv about that

it just dont work im gonna try NGO drivers hope that solves problem
comp give yesterday bluescreen and says something like there are problem in video driver it got infinity loop or something. i think flashing bios but i dont know how becouse i dont have disket station so guess that it hast to do in windows
